Life in Bukit Timah: Insights from a Canadian Management Consultant on Neighbourhood Living, Hiking, and Fine Dining

Bukit Timah is one of my favorite places to live in Singapore. As a Canadian management consultant, I find the appeal of this lively neighborhood hard to resist. It is a place that is filled with lush greenery, excellent public transportation, and a vibrant mix of cultures.

For starters, living in Bukit Timah is easy as one can get around quickly by bus or train. The Bukit Panjang and Downtown Line of the MRT are both easily accessible from the area. This means that accessing the city center, Marina Bay, and Orchard Road is a breeze. Additionally, there are plenty of supermarkets, wet markets, and shopping malls within the area that make it easy to grab groceries and other necessities.

The natural beauty of Bukit Timah is also a big draw. The area is home to a lush rainforest, where one can go for a hike and explore the unique flora and fauna of the area. The area also has several great nature reserves, such as Dairy Farm Nature Reserve, Bukit Timah Nature Reserve, and Central Catchment Nature Reserve, all of which offer amazing views and great opportunities for birdwatching.

Along with its natural beauty, Bukit Timah also has a great selection of restaurants and food options. From fine dining establishments to casual eateries, there is something for everyone in the area. Some of my favorite restaurants include the famous Hill Street Tai Hwa Pork Noodle and the Michelin-starred Burnt Ends.

All in all, Bukit Timah is an ideal place to live in Singapore. With its excellent public transportation, lush rainforest, and amazing selection of restaurants and cafes, it is no wonder why this area is such a popular spot for expats. The area offers a great balance of convenience and nature, and is a great place to call home.

The trails offer stunning views of the cityscape, and it’s a great way to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city. I’ve had the pleasure of exploring some of the trails, and I highly recommend it for anyone looking for a great outdoor experience.

One of the best things about living in Bukit Timah is the wide range of fine dining options. Whether you’re looking for a delicious meal at a restaurant or a quick snack from a nearby café, you’re sure to find something to satisfy your taste buds.
