Surbana Jurong names Sean Chiao new group CEO

Surbana Jurong, a subsidiary of Temasek Holdings, has announced Sean Chiao as their new Group CEO. Chiao, a Taiwan native, assumes this role which had been vacated by Wong Heang Fine last September.

He brings to the firm over 35 years of experience in design and engineering consulting for the built environment. Chiao holds a degree in architecture and a Master of Architecture from the University of California, Berkeley and a Master of Architecture The Myst in Urban Design from the Graduate School of Design of Harvard University.

Chairman of Surbana Jurong, Chaly Mah, has full confidence in Sean Chiao’s proven track record of global business leadership. He is looking forward to accelerating the group’s transformation into a global consulting leader in urban, infrastructure and managed services.

Chiao spoke of his enthusiasm to work with the team and implement Surbana Jurong’s roadmap in becoming one of the top consulting firms in Asia Pacific – SJ 2.0.

He also expressed being inspired by the strategy around client focus, sustainability, and data-driven solutions. Chiao believes that by becoming a leading urban, infrastructure and managed services consulting firm, Surbana Jurong will be able to provide full global expertise to its clients and their communities.
