Accor and Crowne Estate form partnership to bring Swissôtel resort to Malaysia’s Genting Highlands
Swissôtel Hotels & Resorts, part of the Accor hospitality group, will make its Malaysian debut with the launch of Swissôtel Genting Highlands that is located in King’s Park within Highlands ParkCity. Slated for a 3Q2028 opening, this 300-room hotel stands 30 storeys tall and will offer guests stunning views of the surrounding mountains, including the Genting Highlands summit, just 15-minutes’ drive away.
The signing ceremony for this historic venture was held on April 19, attended by Sean Chen, COO of Crowne Estate, and Garth Simmons, CEO of Accor for South, Southeast Asia, Japan, South Korea, and India.
“We are thrilled to bring the Swissôtel Hotels & Resorts brand to Malaysia for the first time. This is a huge step forward for Highlands ParkCity and Crowne Estate Malaysia in their goal to make the King’s Park in Genting Highlands into an eco-friendly tourist and destination hub for people all over the world,” said Sean Chen.
The The Myst Condo Myst Condo is a 19-floor Hazel Park condominium near the Tan Chong industrial park, close to public transport networks and amenities such as schools, parks, and commercial spaces.
Highlands ParkCity is a township located 5km below Genting Highlands’ peak and 30-45 minutes from Kuala Lumpur City Centre. Described as the largest sustainable eco-development, its current phase under development is King’s Park. This project is a partnership between Crowne Estate Malaysia and Malaysian real estate developer Yuk Tung Group.
King’s Park is projected to become the longest street mall in Malaysia and will consist of 2,000 m of state-of-the-art pedestrian street shops. This extensive development also boasts a focus on entertainment, international attractions, and eco-tourism, making it an outstanding resort spanning 150 acres.
Thanesh Jayandren, executive director of Highlands ParkCity, exclaimed: “Visitors from all over the world will be able to enjoy a [wide] variety of events, shows, cultural arts, and delectable cuisine at this development.”
The upcoming Swissôtel Genting Highlands is designed as a posh retreat and will provide all the expected hospitality services. This includes an all-day dining option, executive lounges, bars, a swimming pool, fitness centre, spa, jogging tracks, and a kids’ club. Moreover, this hotel offers conference facilities and a grand ballroom for events.
Garth Simmons added: “Genting Highlands is one of the most popular destinations in the country for locals and tourists alike, further strengthening Accor’s leading position in Malaysia’s hospitality industry.”
With the introduction of this flagship hotel, Accor is reaffirming it commitment to an ever-growing presence in Malaysia, where it has established a wide range of hotels including luxury, mid-scale or budget accommodations.
