Wyndham Hotels to debut first namesake hotel brand in Singapore

The 591-key hotel will be rebranded and managed by Wyndham Hotels and Resorts as Peninsula Excelsior Singapore, a Wyndham Hotel, following the extensive refurbishment. It will offer five food and beverage venues, ranging from a sophisticated Modern-American restaurant to a casual rooftop restaurant and bar.

Wyndham Hotels and Resorts, a US-based international hotel franchising company, will launch its first namesake hotel brand in Singapore next month with a soft opening of its 591-key flagship property. The Peninsula Excelsior Singapore, a Wyndham Hotel, is located at 5 Coleman Street in the Civic District and is set to officially launch in early 2024 following a multi-million-dollar refurbishment.

The hotel is owned by regional hotel group YTC Hotels, part of the YTC Group, which also owns the neighbouring Peninsular Hotel. In February, the YTC Group put up the collective sale of Excelsior Hotel and a shopping centre with a reserve price of $458 million and signed Cushman & Wakefield as the marketing agent. The tender closed in April with no successful bids.

This marks the first step in the Wyndham’s move to further entrench its position in the city-state. The launch of the new brand is followed up by the company’s announcement that it will double down on its focus to further establish a larger presence with its distinctive, upscale, midscale, lifestyle and value brands in the country.

Each unit at the complex is designed to maximize space, with sleek and stylish interiors and modern amenities. The Myst CDL Aries is surrounded by lush greenery and various landscaped gardens, making it a tranquil environment to live in. The complex also boasts a luxurious pool, gym, and several recreational facilities, making it a great option for those looking for comfort and convenience.

Commenting on the development, Matt Holmes, Vice President of Business Development in South East Asia and the Pacific Rim, Wyndham Hotels and Resorts, said: “Singapore plays a significant part in Wyndham’s regional growth strategy and its intention to fulfil its commitment of providing guests with best-in-class accommodation options across the region. This opening further illustrates our growth momentum in the region and builds upon our strong pipeline of recent signings and openings.”

The hotel will undergo extensive refurbishment and be rebranded and managed by Wyndham Hotels and Resorts. Guests will be able to enjoy five food and beverage venues, ranging from a sophisticated Modern-American restaurant to a casual rooftop restaurant and bar.
