Keppel launches Keppel South Central commercial building in the CBD

Keppel Corp has unveiled their newest addition to Singapore’s CBD, Keppel South Central. Located in Tanjong Pagar and situated within the greater Southern Waterfront area, this 33-storey commercial tower offers innovative, flexible and customer-centric urban space solutions. Designed by the renowned global architecture firm NBBJ, Keppel South Central is set for completion in 2024, is 5G-enabled and fitted with leading-edge technologies such as facial recognition access, smart lighting, and micro-zoned air conditioning systems.
This innovative building is a super-low energy smart facility with 24/7 amenities, including a double-storey rooftop restaurant and bar, 60,000 sq ft of shared amenities, event spaces, gym Outdoor fitness decks, swimming pool, sleeping rooms, nursing rooms, and learning facilities. These amenities can easily be booked via an all-in-one integrated application accessible to visitors as well as tenants to manage their working hours.
Keppel South Central has attained the BCA Green Mark Platinum Super Low Energy Award with its energy-efficient green features like high-performance façade system to significantly reduce the amount of solar heat gain, smart building management, rainwater harvesting system and renewable energy. The annual energy use intensity (EUI) of this building is expected to be 110 kWh/m2 per year which translates to 6.2 million kWh of energy savings annually. This amount of energy is enough to power around 1,300 homes in Singapore for an entire year and could lead to $1.8 million savings annually. Additionally, the annual 26,000 m3 water savings is equivalent to 10 Olympic-sized swimming pools.
Keppel South Central is close to Tanjong Pagar MRT station and the upcoming Prince Edward Road station which is set to open on the Circle Line in 2026. This makes it the perfect spot for companies to set up an office. Keppel Land is also known for their other landmark buildings in the CBD and Marina Bay such as the Ocean Financial Centre and Marina Bay Financial Centre. As CEO of the real estate division at Keppel, Louis Lim puts it, “Keppel South Central will be yet another hallmark development and a flagship commercial tower in the Greater Southern Waterfront.”
